Biography
Catherine Gilbert is a Lecturer in Urbanism, School of Architecture, Design and Planning, The University of Sydney
Catherine is a housing and planning scholar with expertise in planning systems, land use policy, housing affordability; and, inclusionary housing approaches. Her recent research has examined narratives on the role of planning in declining housing affordability; and, the design, efficacy and effectiveness of planning reforms intended to foster more diverse and affordable housing production. Her research has also advanced conceptual and empirical understanding of the effects of declining housing affordability and growing socio-spatial inequality on key workers and essential services. Catherine regularly works with government, community and industry partners and has a strong track record of leading impactful, policy-relevant research
