Data Director

Professor Scott Orford is the Data Director for the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE).

He is a Professor in Geographic Information Science and Spatial Analysis at Cardiff University and is a Co-Director and Research Data Lead of the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD) and is co-leading on a number of ESRC, AHRC and NERC funded projects.

Scott is leading the work on the CaCHE DataNavigator and training in secondary data use, data linkage and interpretation. He heads the Data User Group, working with key external data providers and experts to ease access to housing and housing-related data.

Scott has expertise in data portals, meta-data creation, data search and discovery, data integration and data construction. His research interests also include housing market modelling, house price analysis and small area mapping and analysis using statistical spatial models as well as digital approaches to community mapping.

Scott has published in a wide range of academic journals and undertaken policy research for the Welsh Government.
