Dr Yu-Tung Wu is a Research Associate at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, based at the University of Sheffield.

Before joining as a Research Associate in November 2025, Yu-Tung was an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Geography and Planning, University of Sheffield.

He completed his PhD in urban studies and planning at the University of Sheffield in 2024, and was awarded an MSc in Cities and Global Development by the University of Sheffield in 2020 and a BSc in Urban Planning by National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) in 2018.

Yu-Tung’s research interests include housing policies, financialisation, and multi-occupancy buildings, with a particular focus on Taiwan, East Asia, and the United Kingdom. He is interested in how transformations in housing governance systems and urban space reshape households’ everyday lives and community relations in both the short and long term, and how residents respond to and/or adapt to these changes.
