Biography
Emma Baker is Professor of Housing Research at the University of Adelaide where she is Director of the Australian Centre for Housing Research, the Stretton Institute’s ‘Ideas for Australian Cities’ research program, and Deputy Director of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Centre of Research Excellence for Healthy Housing.
Her research seeks to drive evidence and knowledge on the impacts of housing and location, through conceptual, methodological, and evidence-focused work. Core is a focus on generating and utilising longitudinal, spatial and administrative big data. She holds a series of international research advisory roles, and has been successful in leading the establishment of important and impactful national infrastructures, such as the Australian Housing Conditions Data Infrastructure and the Centre of Research Excellence for Healthy Housing.
