Dr Phil O’Brien is a Senior Lecturer in Real Estate and Housing Economics in Urban Studies, at the University of Glasgow, and a Co-Investigator at CaCHE.
Phil’s research focuses primarily on the land and property development process and the relationship between state and market within this, including the economic effects of planning interventions and the trade-offs between regulation and social benefit.
As well as exploring these issues in the UK, Phil has conducted international cross-comparative research on planning and development.
