Dr. Rupa Ganguli is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning.

Biography

Dr. Rupa Ganguli is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning. She is working on research projects looking at the breakdown in home ownership pathway and associated housing-economic-familial precarity among young Australians and demystifying the Australian residential rental vacancy rate measure. She has convened a unit and delivered guest lectures on housing economics and development feasibility.

Rupa holds a Bachelor of Science (Economic Geography, Hons I), Master of Science (Environmental Planning) and completed a PhD titled, ‘Chameleons in the city: An institutional analysis of sales agents in Sydney’s new apartment market’ in 2022. Prior to this, she spent 15 years analysing commercial-industrial-residential property market trends, using GIS and mixed-methods. Her research interests are in uncovering risks in housing production processes and identifying socio-spatial implications of housing-labour market inequalities.
