Biography
Adriana has been a Research Fellow at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (Glasgow) since 2017. She has contributed significantly to many CaCHE projects, evidence reviews as well as primary research. Adriana also proposed and has been leading on two CaCHE projects (on tenant activism and migrant housing).
Prior to joining CaCHE, Adriana worked at Tilburg University (NL) and the University of St Andrews (UK). She is also a chartered Romanian architect and planner with a prolific portfolio of residential and commercial projects undertaken over two decades.
Adriana’s research has focused on some of the ways in which housing and home are permeated by, and shape our ideas of, politics and power, space and place, emotions and embodiment. She has published more than 20 articles in renowned academic journals, including Geoforum; Environment and Planning A; Habitat International; Housing Studies; Housing Theory and Society; International Journal of Urban and Regional Research; Urban Studies. Informed by her research, Adriana teaches courses on housing and urban studies, social and public policy.
