Biography

Dr Ben Pattison is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Regional, Economic and Social Research within Sheffield Hallam University. In his previous role, he was an ESRC funded postgraduate researcher at the University of Birmingham focusing on the growth of the private rented sector.

In his role at Co-Investigator with the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, Ben is working on a project investigating the impact of welfare reform on housing associations.

Ben has a broad range of interests including the private rented sector, housing associations and support with housing costs (e.g. Housing Benefit and Universal Credit). Much of Ben’s research has sought to use mixed methods but his primary expertise is the quantitative analysis of secondary data sources.

From 2012 to 2018, Ben was a member of the executive committee of the Housing Studies Association.
