Dr Bilge Serin is a Research Associate at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, based at the University of Glasgow.
Bilge is an urban researcher with a diverse background including urban development, urban design, politics and architecture.
Before joining CaCHE, Bilge worked at the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University and Middle East Technical University as well as the Chamber of City Planners in Turkey.
Bilge has completed her PhD in Urban Studies at Heriot-Watt University on the contemporary development of housing enclaves in Istanbul. Her research interests are representations of urban space in mass media, imagination and representation of housing futures, everyday life (particularly in controlled living environments), and the dynamics of contemporary commodification urban space.
