Knowledge Exchange Associate (England South & South West)
Dr Chris Foye is a Knowledge Exchange Associate at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE). He is based at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) in London and is working to develop links between academics, practitioners and policymakers.
Before taking up this position, Chris was a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Real Estate and Planning, University of Reading, where he also completed his PhD on “Housing and Happiness” in 2017.
Chris’s research interests cut across a wide range of disciplines, including Sociology, Economics, Psychology and Philosophy. He is particularly interested in the relationship between housing and happiness, how housing consumption (e.g. choice of house, neighbourhood, tenure) is driven by social status considerations, and the Capabilities Approach as applied to housing policy.
Aside from his studies, Chris has worked with the JET Programme in Japan and for the Department of Work and Pensions as a Social Researcher.
