Biography

Professor Craig Watkins is the Research Director for the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE).

In addition to his role within CaCHE, Craig is Vice President and Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Professor of Planning and Housing at the University of Sheffield.

Craig has written extensively on the economic structure and operation of housing markets, housing development and on the relationship between public policy and markets. He has produced more than 150 research outputs including 3 books, 15 book chapters and around 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and has undertaken around 40 funded projects including studies for ESRC, EU, JRF, DLUHC/MHCLG, RICS and RTPI. He has conducted research in partnership with numerous research users, including local authorities and private sector organisations.
