Biography
Dr Emma Bimpson is a Research Associate at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research based at Sheffield Hallam University.
After completing an MA in Social Research at the University of Manchester in 2012, Emma was awarded an ESRC-funded PhD scholarship at the University of Leeds. Her recently submitted PhD has built on 7 years’ experience as a research practitioner in a large housing association, and recent experience working within supported housing services for people experiencing mental ill-health and substance addiction.
Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam, Emma was a Research Research Associate at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, based at the University of Sheffield.
Emma’s research explores welfare restructuring through the accounts of housing and support providers within local systems of homelessness provision.
