Biography
Dr Gareth James is a Research Fellow for the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE) and is based at the University of Glasgow. He is primarily responsible for co-ordinating the Centre’s knowledge exchange and engagement activities in Scotland.
Prior to joining CaCHE, Gareth taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in (African) politics and research methods at the University of Edinburgh, where he obtained his Ph.D., and Newcastle University.
Gareth is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a trustee of Berwickshire Housing Association, and member of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Housing.
His research interests include urban and rural land reform; land for housing and development; place and place-making; poverty and development; knowledge exchange and impact; research methodologies and methods.
