Biography
Dr Gareth Young is Knowledge Exchange and Impact Fellow for the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE) and is based at the University of Sheffield.
Prior to this Gareth was Research Impact and Partnerships Officer within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Sheffield working on knowledge exchange and strategic partnership building activities.
Gareth completed his PhD in 2016 from the Department of Urban Studies at the University of Sheffield. His thesis focused on the changes to social housing legislation post-2011 riots, which provided more mechanisms for eviction to housing providers for social housing tenants convicted of riot-related events.
Gareth has broad research interests spanning housing, policy-making and urban studies fields including governance of tenants, anti-social behaviour, welfare and inequalities.
