Biography
Gustavo Sousa is a Research Fellow at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, based at the University of Sheffield.
In his role with CaCHE Gustavo will consolidate a simulation platform to study energy use and emissions of the national housing stock, including the modelling of household decision-making. This is to identify where the greatest potential for socio-technical innovation lies, in housing stock decarbonisation, and to support and inform the formulation of policy measures.
Gustavo has completed his PhD in Building Technology at the University of Nottingham. His research interests include simulation of housing indoor conditions, evaluation of policies and programmes destined to reduce energy demand, as well as representation of decision-making processes at operational (occupancy, activities, usage) and investment (technology, insulation, renewables) levels.
