Biography
Tom is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography & Planning at the University of Liverpool. He has previously held roles within the Universities of St Andrews (2012-14) and Sheffield (2014-18). His principal research interests relate to the tenant experience of private renting, social housing, and community-led housing. He has led funded and collaborated on research projects for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, British Academy, ESRC, National CLT Network, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, Scottish Government, and Welsh Assembly Government.
Within CaCHE, Tom is undertaking research on community-led housing and contributed to the Social Housing Working Group. He also leads the CaCHE Early Career Housing Research Network. Tom is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Housing Policy and has previously served on the Housing Studies Association executive committee.
