A conference hosted by the UK Centre for Collaborative Housing Evidence (CaCHE)  | Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel, 2-3 September 2026

Following on the success of our event last September co-hosted with the International Journal of Housing Policy, we are delighted to announce a further conference along similar lines to be held on September 2-3 this year in Glasgow. Like last year, there is no conference fee, and we strongly encourage academic colleagues and others working across the housing sector, including early career researchers, to submit abstracts and register for the conference. We provide further information below and look forward to welcoming you to Glasgow.

Ken Gibb

Director, UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence

This conference aims to bring together housing researchers, policymakers and practitioners to consider the current state of play in housing studies, policy and practice in 2026. We will reflect on developments in housing studies, policy and practice since CaCHE began in 2017, and consider how we can move forward during these turbulent times, learning from what has gone before.

These issues will be explored through a combination of keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshop sessions across two days.

Housing scholars, policymakers and practitioners are invited to submit short abstracts of papers (max 250 words) for the conference by 5pm, Friday 5 June 2026.

Abstracts may address a wide range of housing themes, including (but not limited to):

  • Economics
  • Inequalities
  • Environment
  • Place
  • Data
  • Comparative perspectives
  • Systems thinking

Those who submit abstracts will have the opportunity to share their work as part of our workshop sessions, with a chance to present ideas, discuss findings and hear feedback from others working across the housing sector.

If you have any questions about this call for abstracts, please contact the CaCHE operational support team on cache-conference@glasgow.ac.uk.

How to submit your abstract

Please submit your abstract by 5pm, Friday 5 June 2026 via this Microsoft Form: CaCHE Conference Abstract submission
