Event Details

Every week more than 1.4 million people move to cities and by 2050 the United Nations estimates that 70% of the world’s population will live in cities.

On 31 October, the School of Social and Political Sciences and the Glasgow Centre for International Development is celebrating the United Nations ‘World Cities Day’.

Students and researchers from across the University are invited to share their urban research as part of a ‘Lunchtime Lightning Talks’ event. You will also have the chance to win a ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’ and ‘Bronze’ prize for the best presentation.

Lunch and drinks will be provided and every entrant will be given a School of Social and Political Sciences goodie bag.

Can you describe your urban research in four minutes, eight slides, 30 seconds each slide? Are you up for the challenge and want to gain more experience in presenting?
