How to mitigate the effects of coronovirus on homeless people?
Why are people who are experiencing homelessness especially at risk from COVID-19? What actions are various sectors – public health, local government, charities – currently taking to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on people facing homelessness? What other local or national policies need to be introduced, and how can we ensure positive reforms are sustained throughout the course of the pandemic and beyond?
In this ‘vlog’, the latest instalment of our COVID-19 series, Dr Francesca Albanese (Head of Research and Evaluation at Crisis) and Dr Zana Khan (Clinical Lead for the King’s Health Partners, Pathway Homeless Team at South London and Maudsley Mental Health Trust, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL) discuss the response of homelessness practitioners and policymakers to the pandemic.
