Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee: Retrofitting housing for net-zero
Professor Ken Gibb (Director, CaCHE) and Chris Morgan (Director, John Gilbert Architects) provided evidence to the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee on retrofitting housing for net-zero on 30 November.
During the discussion, they gave an overview of the collaborative demonstration project evaluating the carbon reduction secured by a high-quality Enerphit retrofit of an eight-property tenement block on Niddrie Road in Glasgow. Chris highlighted that the project will show that it’s possible to get extensive energy-efficient performance from an old building, and occupants living in buildings with this level of energy efficiency will see their energy bills fall to £10-15 a month.
