This report, produced by CaCHE and HACT, highlights the vital role of social housing in supporting Scotland’s people and communities. It shows that social housing investment delivers wide-ranging benefits – from creating jobs and boosting economic growth, to tackling poverty and homelessness, improving health and wellbeing, and strengthening community resilience. The study also emphasises the importance of impact measurement, enabling housing providers to demonstrate their value and align with Scotland’s National Performance Framework. In light of COVID-19, the research makes clear that social housing should be central to strategies for recovery, renewal and inclusive growth.
